Cloud Computing Without the Buzzwords
Notes for Lecture 1
Most teams learn the hard way that a “copy, paste, and pray” move to the cloud falls apart fast. A flight-reservation app that runs fine on one server becomes temperamental after a naïve lift-and-shift, because real cloud work touches design, testing, and operations, not just deployment. Even the basic software development lifecycle often ignores the cloud’s realities until prod is on fire, which the opening CS441 slides call out bluntly.
